Online RBT Training is delivered virtually over five consecutive weeks for a total of 40 hours. The cohort meets with the online instructor one day a week for two hours. Participants will then be required to complete an average of eight hours of homework per week, consisting of video modules and exercises.
世界杯官方app RBT Training also introduces a unique, university-developed verbal behavior component, particularly relevant to providing services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other intellectual and developmental disability.

As the number of children diagnosed with ASD continues to increase, so does the need for specially trained and credentialed (certified) professionals and caregivers in the area of applied behavior analysis.
The RBT is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA, BCaBA, or FL-CBA. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans, this is the role of the BCBA. The BACB certificant supervising the RBT is responsible for the work performed by the RBT on the cases they are overseeing. It is the responsibility of the RBT supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence.
In addition to completing the 世界杯官方app 40-hour training program, individuals seeking the Registered Behavior Technician credential must also fulfil the following requirements:
- Be 18 years of age
- Have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent
- Undergo a background check
- Complete the RBT Competency Assessment
These certification requirements are not offered as part of this online training.

Since the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) formalized the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential in 2014, the role has become increasingly accepted and in demand in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Background
Increased health insurance coverage for mental health treatment has likely facilitated the increased demand for Behavioral Health Technicians, many of whom specialize in working with patients who have autism or behavioral disorders and are working with children in school environments.

Course Schedule

Week 1 - Orientation, Behavioral Definitions
The first online meeting consists of an outline of the training program, ethics and professional credentialing in applied behavior analysis, and thoroughly reviewing the RBT 2nd Edition Task List.

Week 2 - Behavioral Dimensions, Data Recording
The second online meeting will introduce students to autism and applied behavior analysis and provide the next homework assignment

Week 3 - Graphing; Research Design
The third online meeting will review behavior data collection and behavioral interventions for skill acquisition, and provide the next homework assignment.

Week 4 - Task Analysis & Fidelity of Implementation; Preference Assessment
The fourth online meeting will review shaping and strengthening behavior, and provide the next homework assignment.

Week 5 - Verbal Behavior; Course Wrap-up; Additional RBT Requirements:
The fifth online meeting will review verbal behavior instruction, challenging behavior, and ethical considerations.
Meet the Instructors
Alonzo Andrews, MA, BCBA, LBA
Alonzo Andrews has previously served as the director of the Autism Treatment Center in San Antonio; during his 24-year tenure, he delivered behavioral services and supports to individuals with autism spectrum disorders to include the provision of residential programming for children and adults, on-site operation of state-certified private school, and out-patient rehabilitation therapies.
He has taught courses at the University of Texas at San Antonio for the last ten years. Alonzo has co-authored numerous scholarly publications in well-respected journals such as The Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, Behavior Analysis in Practice. His clinical interests have engaged him in diverse projects to include biomedical interventions, video modeling, distance functional assessments, architecture for autism, challenging behavior, verbal behavior, behavioral phenomenology, neurodiversity, and the development of a computer-simulation training program for caregivers of children with autism.
Janet Enriquez, PhD, BCBA
Janet Sanchez Enriquez, PhD, BCBA-D attended the University of North Carolina Charlotte as an OSEP scholar working under the mentorship of Dr. Rob Pennington.
Her research interests include working alongside vulnerable and diverse populations promoting applied behavior analysis for teaching and learning through research and the development of culturally and linguistically diverse verbal behavior assessments and interventions. She is a founding member and Secretary of the non-profit the Mexican Organization of Practitioners of Applied Behavior Analysis (Organización Mexicana de Practicantes del Análisis Conductual Aplicado, serves on the Board of Directors for the World Behavior Analysis Day Alliance, sits on the Executive Council for the Texas Association of Behavior Analysis and was previously the Council for Exceptional Children’s Division on Autism Developmental Disabilities DEI Student Liaison.
